Always wanted a banjo, bought one, could barely pluck out a few patterns, but when I hit on this little exercise in picking (on literally the second time I've ever tried to play one), it hit me like a bolt of lightning that there was a song in it, and I was intrigued by the idea of a 2-chord song....something actually quite difficult to do (try to think of any that are worth listening to, it's tough). Buzzing on Shiner Bock, I knocked this song out in a few hours in the middle of the night. Austin's weirdness is rubbing off on me, and this song is a testament to it, but like the banjo it refuses to be sad, and I guess that means in a small way I'm adapting and starting to turn over a new page here.
