I don't usually upload or share incomplete or "broken" tracks...but this one I think deserved it because I may never find anyone to complete it. It was really written for a deeper/raspier voice and I think it's a lovely melody and a deeply personal song that I was really proud of, but sadly it for now exists with my clunky voice giving the song its icing. It's some of my best writing and recording, in spite of it.

There's a cancer in my heart
swimming in my blood like rage
and it tries to tear my love apart

I want to chase it all away
It's like wishing for a summer breeze
when the winter just got here to stay

There's an anger inside of me
I know where it comes from
The shame of what I used to be

It's like a stain that I can't hide
and I can't wash it clean
or cover up the broken parts inside

And I struggle to breathe
so I replay my worst memories
Yeah it feels like a judgement on me
so I lay down, and pray that I can sleep

There's a cancer on my soul
I don't know the cure
or reconcile the things I stole

Sometimes it haunts my mind
it's an open wound
that stings with all the things I've left behind

feels like lyrics no one wrote
scratched across my skin
like scars that spell my suicide note

God knows I'll come around
if I feel the fever break
and I come to trust the peace I found
